Our vision is to strengthen our corporation, uplift our communities, and empower our employees by expanding access to education, leadership development, technology learning, and meaningful volunteer engagement.
HACEMOS, an employee-led organization at AT&T and a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit,
creates opportunities for personal and professional growth across our three pillars—Corporation, Community,
and Employees. We strengthen careers and communities through leadership development, technology learning,
High Technology Day, and a scholarship program that has supported students nationwide since 1998.
Through meaningful volunteer initiatives and programs that expand access to education and opportunity,
we work to inspire tomorrow’s leaders and create lasting impact.
HACEMOS traces its beginnings to the summer of 1988, when two Southwestern Bell Telephone managers in San Antonio, Texas, gathered employees from several Texas cities to discuss forming an internal organization that could strengthen the corporation, support the Hispanic/Latino employee community, and make a positive impact in the neighborhoods they served. What began as a conversation about connection, development, and service quickly evolved into a unified effort to build something meaningful.
On January 1, 1988, HACEMOS was officially established, with Houston becoming the first chapter inducted into the organization. The original logo reflected the three foundational pillars that still guide HACEMOS today—Corporation, Community, and Employees—symbolized through hands joined in unity, respect, and shared purpose.
Over the years, HACEMOS expanded beyond its Texas roots to become a nationwide, employee-led organization within AT&T. While membership is comprised of AT&T employees, HACEMOS’ impact extends far beyond the workplace, serving students, families, and communities through programs such as High Technology Day, volunteer initiatives, leadership development opportunities, and a national scholarship program that has supported students since 1998.
Rooted in its Hispanic/Latino heritage and strengthened by decades of service, HACEMOS continues to grow as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and AT&T employee organization committed to education, leadership, and community impact across the country.
