Our Mission
To foster an environment where people help each other to succeed professionally, personally, and in the community. The Hispanic/Latino Employee Association of AT&T (HACEMOS) ERG fosters an environment where people support and encourage each other to succeed professionally, personally and in the community through networking, volunteering and social activities. This ERG has an emphasis on education and provides scholarships in the community it serves, along with personal development opportunities to its members. HACEMOS is focused on transforming lives through signature events such as High Technology Day and its robust scholarship program.
Our History
During the summer of 1988, two Southwestern Bell Telephone first level managers in San Antonio, TX, had a vision to gather individuals from several Texas cities for a weekend meeting. A vision of whether an internal Southwestern Bell organization should be formed to address concerns and issues regarding the strengthening of our corporation, our Hispanic body and respective communities.
On January 1, 1988, HACEMOS was officially formed and the Houston organization was the first Chapter inducted into HACEMOS. The logo adopted showed the Corporation, Community, and Employees of equal importance; the hands in mutual sharing displaying respect yet power when joined.
